Crest : Sumiiri Teppō kaku-ni Katabami
The Katabami (wood sorrel) crest is a traditional Japanese kamon featuring the stylized leaves of the Katabami plant (Oxalis), also known as sorrel. As a perennial herb, its leaves fold at night, often appearing as though they have been partially eaten—an observation believed to be the origin of its name.
Renowned for its resilience and ability to thrive even underfoot, the Katabami has long been adopted as a family emblem and is regarded as one of Japan’s oldest and most enduring crests, historically prevalent in regions such as Kyoto, Osaka, Hyogo, and Shiga.
Color : Mokuran (Magnolia Brown)
Mokuran is a "traditional Japanese color" introduced from China, characterized by a subdued yellowish-brown tone derived from magnolia bark dye.
Historically associated with the robes of high-ranking Buddhist monks, it is also known in classical kasane no irome (layered color combinations) as a refined composition of yellow over black, creating a deep, muted hue with subtle warmth and depth.
